Ron Meeks has been a great friend, or best friend, going all the way back to our high-school days in Clear Lake. Ron is an accomplished artist, surfer and surfboard fabricator. Ron has been featured in Surfer and Surfing Magazines for regional surfing compeitions and for his successful Meeks brand surfboards. He moved to Hawaii shortly after school and worked under some of the biggest names in surfboard design. Josh is a local aspiring entertainer-singer currently enrolled at UNT. He has had some professional portrait work done in the past but was looking for something different. We kept a single light set-up for the most of the session, demphasized or eliminated the surroundings, isolating Josh as the subject – content. I finished the second shoot with Caitlin Cribbs this week. Between two different sessions we spent about six hours of actual shooting and I probably have another four hours in editing the images. We set incremental goals of clean head-shots for the first session followed by environmental portraits with her viola for the second session.

Caitlin is currently in her fourth year of pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance. She studies viola with Dr. Susan Dubois and Baroque viola with Cynthia Roberts.
